Windmills: Modular

Introducing Wind Energy

Windmills have worked well for centuries on limited tasks such as grinding corn or lifting water. Wind is our most erratic source of energy locally, daily and annually.

As a primary source of electricity it is proving impossible to use as the only resource at any scale. No matter how many windmills one has on a whole continent, they can all be almost stationary at the same time, some of the time. If your society must have a reliable and always available source of electricity, something much of the would has become accustomed to, then a full backup is needed.

The story has been discussed in detail at the opening to our Renewables Avenue.

Additional discussions, mostly complaints, are aired in the Wind Library. The picture links on the right allow you to jump straight there.
