COAL & GLOBAL WARMING LIBRARY

Coal is the big culprit in Global Warming.

COAL & GLOBAL WARMING LIBRARY:
LOBBY

Some basic views on Coal were given in the Renewables building. Perhaps we should view coal as a source of Carbon, not energy, and convert it to useful objects like plastics, carbon fibres, graphene or reactor graphite.

Global Warming cannot be wished away. It is not a belief system but a study of a highly likely series of catastrophes which can affect the planet. Climate change is only one of the many negatives we humans have to face.

Coal is seen as the primary source of CO2 emissions from industries. The story of coal and global warming are entwined.

Natural Gas emissions can be less than 60% of that from coal. However, liquefaction, transport, and evaporation of LNG can consume 25% of the gas energy from the well, negating the gas advantage. Shale gas wells which lose more than 2% of the gas to the atmosphere also match the global warming effect of CO2 from coal. EfN will document Gas and Oil separately.

New reports and publications can be accepted through the
Rapid Publishing service on EfN Square.
